You open your eyes, to the feeling of pain.
And spend the rest of your life, seeking comfort again.
A kiss from a lover, a smile from your wife.
These can bring joy to the stresses of life.
Life is a journey, or so people say.
But heartache and trouble will stand in your way.
Life is full of sorrow, there is an excess of pain.
Yet when the clouds have parted, the sun shines again.
Life is scattered with joy, but not for the meek.
It is there for you to find, if you have the courage to seek.
So cherished your loved ones, as long as you can.
Look to your fellow and lend them a hand.
Seek out the joy, one piece at a time,
Share it with all on the road that does wind.
